ADOPTION APPLICATION

**IMPORTANT** - Due to the volume of applications received, and contact time between veterinary offices, landlord, and references, application processing time usually takes approximately 10-14 days.

Delays frequently occur when voice mails cannot be left due to mailbox not setup or mailbox full. Please let your references know to expect a call from us. We will contact you when your application processing has been completed, please do not call the shelter to inquire about the status, as it takes away from time spent processing applications.

Elmore offers three options to submit an adoption application. Use the method that best suits your needs.
  • Option 1 Electronic Adoption Application
    Submit your application electronically
  • Have your personal references complete and submit an electronic reference form for you. It's quick and easy. Avoid additioinal delays from phone messages, full voicemails, voicemails not setup... Link to Personal Reference Form.
  • A home visit may be required as part of the adoption application process.  If two home visit appointments are scheduled and cancelled by the applicant, the application will be denied.
  • Option 2 - Elmore Adoption Application

ADOPTION PROCESS
  • Identify what you are looking for in a pet.
  • Fill out an application. Pre-applying allows you to get preapproved for adoption, then when the pet you have been looking for becomes available, you'll be ready without delay.
  • Visit the shelter, talk to our knowledgeable staff.
  • Keep in touch, we want to know how it is going. Let us know if you have questions.
 
DOG ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

Spay/neuter, vaccines as appropriate to age--distemper , rabies (3 months and older), Heal test for lyme disease, heartworm, nails clipped, ears cleaned, teeth cleaned, de-flea and tick treatment, and microchipping.
DOG ADOPTION FEE (same male or female)

8 weeks ~ 6 months/Adult dogs 25 pounds and Under -- $325
7 months and up -- $275
 
CAT ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

Spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV/heartworm testing, rabies vaccine (3 months and older), distemper 5 in 1 vaccine, ear mite treatment, flea and tick treatment, and microchipping.
CAT ADOPTION FEE (same male or female)

8 weeks ~ 6 months -- $150

7 months and up -- $125
